Feel comforted during the changing season and late summer nights with this medium weight Ikat Shawl made with vegetable dyes from our Guatemalan artisan partner cooperative in the lakeside village of San Juan La Laguna. Each shawl is unique.

How it's Made

Handmade on a backstop loom. Artisans dye the yarns and align them into beautiful patterns before weaving. These women specialize in backstop woven textiles featuring traditional Ikat designs created using natural dyes.

Natural colorants consist of plants such as “aloe”, black capote”, Old fustic”, “indigo”.

Fabrics can be washed on gentle cycle with mild detergent and air dried.
